On October 1, 2025, the world lost Dr. Jane Goodall—an iconic inspiration to tens of millions of people globally and a passionate voice for more than 60 years on community led conservation, climate change, sustainability, youth empowerment, and our shared responsibility to protect animals, people, and the environment.
Though Dr. Jane is no longer with us, her legacy of inspiring hope through action is more important now than ever. As Canada faces unprecedented environmental challenges—from historic wildfires to extreme temperatures—her vision for a better world continues to guide our work.
Now in its fifth year, the Jane Goodall Institute of Canada (JGIC) is hosting our annual birthday auction—for the first time, in memoriam. This April 3rd, we'll celebrate what would have been Dr. Jane's 92nd birthday, honouring her extraordinary life and ensuring her work continues.
Between April 3 and April 12, 2026, supporters across Canada can bid on unique items, with all proceeds supporting JGIC's programs that protect our shared planet and all its inhabitants—the mission Dr. Jane dedicated her life to.
